Jordan Shipley Seriously Injured in Ranch Accident, Hospitalized
Former NFL wide receiver Jordan Shipley is recovering in the hospital after suffering severe burns in a ranch accident, his family said. The former 40-year-old football star was in critical but stable condition following an accident at his ranch near Burnet, Texas.
According to authorities, Shipley was working on some ranch equipment when it suddenly started burning. He became engulfed in flames but managed to free himself and yell out to someone in the vicinity for rescue. This volume was enough for rescue workers to rush to his aid. He was taken to a nearby hospital with the intent of being transported by helicopter to an Austin center for further burn treatment.
Doctors have since verified that Shipley has third-degree burns covering a large area of his body, which required several surgeries. Shipley’s family has indicated that although he is stable, the next few days are expected to be critical for him as the doctors closely monitor him for any signs of infection and breathing difficulties. The family has continued to ask for prayers and support for Shipley as he embarks on a long healing process.
